Frank was the sixth of ten surviving children of Herman Joseph Meiring and Ursula Shears. His father died when he was twelve years old.
Frank married Mary Keeler on 22 November 1898. The picture shown here is from that day.
Between 1900 and 1914, Frank and Mary had eight children, including Leona Veronica Meiring.
Frank worked as a truck farmer on his family's farm at Central Avenue and Secor Road. In the 1900 census, four boarders were living with him and his family. In the March 1905 division of his mother's land, he received 13.36 acres on Central Avenue. The family lived in his parent's saltbox house on Central. His wife died when he was 46.
Frank died at age 76, after an illness of many months, from cancer of the esophagus. He died at the home of his son Charles, who lived at Dorr Street and Rochelle Road. He was buried on 28 October 1947 in Calvary cemetery in Toledo, Ohio. At the time of his death, he was survived by eight children, twenty-five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
