Stephan Rawer Born: circa 1670 (possibly) Alsweiler, Duchy of Lorraine Died: aft 1718 (probably) Linden, Duchy of Lorraine

Stephan was one of eleven children of Coune Rauber. He may have been born in Alsweiler, but other possibilities include Tholey and Linden.

He was a juror [Sendschöffe] and a master of brethren of some type of council, possibly a church council [Brudermeister]. He was also a co-owner of the castle estates at Linden [Mitinhaber der Schloßgüter zu Linden (Steffeshaus)].

Stephan married Anna Backes before 1696, possibly in Tholey. The coat of arms of the town is shown here.

Between 1696 and 1718, Stephan and Anna had at least nine children, including Matthias Rauber.

Their children were born in Linden, so the family lived here during that period.
