Frank was the sixth of nine surviving children of Gregory Keeler and Maria Anna Fisher. He was baptized on 26 March 1847 at St. Alphonsus in Peru, Ohio, so the birth date on his tombstone, shown here, is in error.
As a young child, he lived with his family in Ridgefield Township, Huron County. In 1851, the family moved to Sharon Township, Richland County, Ohio.
Frank married (Anna) Mary Fein on 23 November 1875 at Sacred Heart in Bethlehem, Ohio. The witnesses were Kaspar Keeler and Margaretha Heinz.
Between 1876 and 1893, Frank and Mary had twelve children, including Mary Anna Keeler.
In the mid-1880s, Frank and his family moved to Gibson township, Mercer County (west central Ohio). Around 1892, Frank moved the family to Toledo, Ohio, where his wife had inherited 40 acres of land when her brother John died.
In 1900, Frank was farming on Flanders Road in Sylvania Township, Lucas County, Ohio. The farm was referred to as "Ginger Hill."
Frank died at age 84 from chronic myocarditis at his home, and was buried on 9 February 1932 in St. Joseph's cemetery in Sylvania, Ohio.
