Johannes was the eldest of seven surviving children of Wesselius Meyering and Johanna Bubing of Lowick. Although there is some uncertainty, he may be the person in the drawing shown here.
He worked as a farmer.
Johannes married Henrica Aleida van Oepen on 6 November 1819 in Bocholt.
Between 1820 and 1839, Johannes and Henrica had eight children, including Herman Joseph (Joe) Meiring.
Johannes died at age 79.
