Elisabeth and her twin brother Nicolaus were the
fifth and sixth of seven children of Johannes Gillen and Anna M. Plettener. Her oldest brother, Peter
Gillen, is number 72 in this Ahnentafel.
Elisabeth married Johannes
Kreutz on 27 April 1815 in Bliesen. The coat of arms of the village
is shown here.
Between 1816 and 1841, Johannes and Elisabeth had ten
children:

He died at the age of six.

He remarried to Anna Maria Gillen (1842-1920), daughter of Johannes Gillen and Elisabeth
Wagner.
Their son, Franz Kreuz (1865-1947),
emigrated in 1888.
